HTC Vive
HTC Vive
Day 61. Still no delivery date known. F5 key is worn out, must order new keyboard. Wonder if there will still be graphics cards with HDMI port when the Vive ships.
Yes, we are in contact with HTC, but we still can't give any information about a delivery date. At the moment, it is still the case that only pre-orders via HTC's e-shop (EU) are being processed, but these are limited to one unit, which is more or less the same for Oculus.
Believe me, we would also be happy if we could not only take your pre-orders, but also deliver them already :).
Slowly but surely it's getting on my mind and what do I just see?
melectronic has them immediately available?
This makes me even more suspicious that Digitec doesn't want to give them to the pre-orderers at the price of 799.-!
I am also counting the days... I wonder why it takes so long...
Did you know that Melectronics has the glasses available? Digitec is owned by Migros and Melectronics is also owned by Migros I think they just don't want to send the old cheap orders.
When ordering directly from HTC, I received the Vive in 3 days, total cost not quite 1000 Fr. (no customs duties or the like, delivery via DHL)
First of all, I'm a satisfied Digitec customer, and if I wasn't so keen on the thing, it would have been more convenient for me to get it at Digitec without having to transfer it to a prepaid card etc. I ordered it directly from HTC on Monday, including postage.
I ordered it directly from HTC on Monday, including postage it cost 1040.- (965 euros). Surprisingly, I already got an email from DHL today that the Vive will arrive on Thursday (DHL Express from the Czech Republic). I actually expected a month's wait.
Anyway, supposedly HTC has overcome the supply bottlenecks and can deliver at short notice. I also read that the resellers will be supplied soon. So it probably won't be long before Digitec gets it too. (Fingers crossed).
For all curious people like me, here is the Google spreadsheet which was posted on /r/vive, there you can already see one or the other Swiss: https://docs.google.com/spreadshee...
Apparently it's starting in Sweden:

Does HTC supply distibutors or dealers at all? At the moment, direct sales via the HTC website seem to be running smoothly. Also to Switzerland. Available immediately. 3 days delivery time.
I can't find the device listed at any dealer. Only Digitec. Does Digitec really get them or does HTC only want to do business via their website?
If you can't communicate anything because there is no information, then that is unfortunately the case.
Why should Digitec withhold information here if it is known? It doesn't make sense,
In general, I must say, communication is very open here.
For heaven's sake... how have you managed to survive without them so far?
The HTC Vive is nice!
But it's better to buy a higher pair of glasses right away!
The ScreenDoor effect is much better with the PRO!
Unfortunately the full Pro sets are unnecessary because the Pro controllers and Pro base stations 2.0 are not needed for the Pro!
Currently Digitec has no decent VR set for sale at Christmas which is very lousy!
Only the Pro Full which is old technology again! (but Europe/Switzerland doesn't have access to the new technology!
Are games already included with the Vive?
My brother ordered directly from HTC (via Paypal is faster than KK - for whatever reason) 2 weeks later delivered (received Wednesday).
Okay, I'm now more than happy that I ordered the Vive directly from HTC at the end of May... Hard to believe, but now I got it even cheaper than here... *shock*
