Can you use this without a power supply? *** Can it be used without the power supply if the ports are not used to charge a device?
@Speiererg: Does the USB hub work without an external power supply when only devices that do not draw much current are connected? (e.g. mouse/keyboard dongle; webcam; printer; ...)
