Can you also format it NTFS for Windows 10 or is it only for MAC?

That is possible in any case. But I don't know if there is a Windows app for updating the SSD's firmware. Otherwise you have to connect it to a Mac once a year for firmware updates. If you have a Mac but want Windows externally, then no problem ;)
What kind of Thunderbolt interface do you have? 1,2 or 3 ?
