Can this mouse be connected directly to the notebook via Bluetooth or is an adapter required for the USB port?

The Logitech MX Anywhere 2S can be connected via Bluetooth as well as with the Logitech Unifying receiver. You do not need an adapter for a Bluetooth connection, as the mouse can communicate directly with Bluetooth-enabled devices such as notebooks. However, if you want to use the Unifying receiver, you need a USB connection for the receiver, but no adapter for the Bluetooth connection.
