Can the sidetone functionality (hearing your own voice better) also be used when the microphone is removed?

I don't think so, but if I have any advice to give, having had the Penrose and now having the Audeze Maxwell, I'd recommend the Maxwell - the quality is incredible and the battery life is amazing.
