Can the product also be used on a USB C notebook without Thundebolt support?

I'm pretty sure it should work, but I can't guarantee it completely. I've certainly tested it on the Dell XPS, the Lenovo X1 and also on Samsung S-series smartphones, and it works everywhere, as well as on MacBooks.
