Can the Magic Keyboard with Touch ID also be used/operated via cable? I ask because my monitor has a USB hub, so I could plug the keyboard in there and use it with both my Macbook and Windows laptop.

Hoi - so with my Magic without numeric keypad with Bluetooth and with TouchID, I can switch off Bluetooth (on the Mac) and then plug in the cable (Lightning to USB-C) on the Mac and the keypad then works (still) - what probably won't work on the Windows PC is TouchID (I've never tried it because I don't have the Win stick ;) ). No guarantee... but I just tested it on my Mac.
