Can the Edge 1030 also be used for hiking? Also for a high altitude tour over the glacier? Can I load routes from komoot onto the edge? Greetings and thanks for the answer

I can only tell you about the Edge Explore. I really hope that the top model will also work as easily. The connection with Komoot works perfectly. Simply plan a route online and then you will find all your planned routes directly on the Edge - assuming you have an internet connection via smartphone.

If you have Topo Switzerland installed, yes. The display corresponds to the Swiss Topo maps at a scale of 1 to 25,000. I don't know about Komoot directly on the Edge. Probably first copy them into Garmin BaseCamp (free tour planning software from Garmin) and then transfer them to the device.
