If you only use it in the family, buy one without disposable protective caps and clean it after use.
However, if you are looking for high hygiene, the protective caps are meant for one-time use.
You can do this like you do with toothbrushes, but the chances of them falling on the floor or getting mixed up are very high.

I would rather ask myself how great the real danger is of transmitting diseases via the ear. Using the protective cap in the family on a personal basis fits in with today's times, but is rather unnecessary. If hygiene is needed, a quick wipe with a cloth and disinfectant is definitely more than enough, and in the case of today's exaggerations, the protective cap should be changed 🤷🏻♂️
