can i use it to switch off the wifi router on whose wifi the socket is located from another floor (without visual contact)? (because i think the connection from the iphone to the socket is via wifi, isn't it?) My logic says yes, because when I switch off this WLAN is still there :) But when I switch it on, it's not. But I don't need that either :)
This plug does not work via WLAN, but Thread (a wireless standard).
For this you need a device with a Thread module (e.g. Apple TV, Echo, Google Nest). If this is available, your idea will work and switching on will not be a problem, as the range of Thread is very large.

the socket does not transmit via WLAN but via Thread, i.e. you need a Thread Border Router
Yes, that shouldn't be a problem.
