Can I install Mac apps on this SSD? If so, is that faster or slower than installing directly on a Mac Book Pro M1?

Apps belong on the FP of the MacBook Pro M1 to guarantee the speed of Apple's excellent architecture.
The SSD is ideal for working with files and folders related to an app installed on the internal FP for photo or video editing, etc.
