Can I connect the USB stick to the mobile phone via an adapter?

Yes you can. You just need a USB adapter that is compatible with your mobile and then you can. It takes different amounts of time from device to device. With my old mobile it took a minute and with my new one not even 5 seconds.

I do not know. Have neither an adapter nor did I ever want to do this.
