Can I connect the Edifier R100BT speakers, for example, to this record player with preamplifier, does that work? Or do I need a separate amplifier to hear something?

If the speakers are so-called active speakers (with their own power supply and cinch input > red/white audio cable), you do not need a separate amplifier. I use this record player with "TEUFEL Stereo M" speakers.
