Can I connect my MacBook Early 2016 directly to this monitor via USB-C, then close the MacBook and work on the monitor with the keyboard and mouse previously connected via Bluetooth? Will my MacBook then also be charged via USB-C?

Sorry, it was the wrong monitor, it doesn't have USB-C at all
