Question about Corsair RM750x *2018*
Can I also use the 6+2 pin PCIe connector as a 4+4 pin or is there a difference between these two connectors?

The connectors on the cable to the mainboard/GPU have different shapes, i.e. coded differently, and do not physically fit into the other connector. On the power supply itself, however, this is somewhat different. Here it does not matter which connector you use for CPU or GPU, as long as you use the appropriate cable.
