Helpful answer

The comment (BigMac/BurgerKing) from the predecessor is a bit exaggerated, but there is certainly a Leica/Huawei collaboration.
Camera specs:
Leica dual camera with f/2.2 aperture.
12MP RGB sensor with optical image stabilisation
20MP monochrome sensor without optical image stabilisation
Hybrid autofocus: contrast, laser and PDAF
4K video recording
Front camera
8MP front camera with autofocus

I am very satisfied with it, and have a direct comparison with my Samsung Galaxy S7 edge, and I personally do not see any serious shortcomings in this Huawei product, on the contrary.

Yes, of course.
The camera has as much to do with Leica as the BigMäc has to do with Burger King.
The sensor, as in almost all mobile phones, is from Sony (IMX286).
The lenses are made in China by Sunny Optical under licence from Leica. (https://www.dpreview.com/post...)

Both Huawei and Leica are silent about how much know-how still comes directly from Leica.

But whoever it is, Huawei is doing a lot right with the camera and doing it very well.
