Question about FiiO X5 3rd gen
Can anyone help me with the x5 and x7 fiio? Who would you recommend I am only interested in the sound quality and the possibility to listen to Apple music.
After 6 months of pure enthusiasm: FiiO X5 3rd Gen. (now Fr. 383.--) The important thing is Android and VIPER ( present on both).
The X5 also runs Android as its OS. I briefly opened the Google Play Store on the X5 beforehand. Apple Music can be loaded as a normal app and is available as normal. With the small but subtle difference that the conversion is done via the AK4490 DAC. If you listen to music with an app other than the FiiO app, you can only do so in Android mode. The big difference is that the battery runs out faster.
I myself listen to my music stored on OneDrive via Groove and that also works great. One more tip: if you have good headphones with a replaceable cable, it's worth buying a balanced cable for the 2.5mm output.
In summary: I think the X5 from the 3rd generation and the X7 1st and 2nd generation are both suitable for Apple Music.

If I were you, I would go for the FiiO X7. As far as I know, it has the option of listening to music via Apple. In terms of sound quality, both are very similar.
