Question about G-Tech Drive mobile Pro SSD
Can an iMac (Late 2015, Thunderbolt 1) to which the disk is connected via original Apple Thunderbolt 3 / Thunderbolt 1 adapter and original Apple Thunderbolt 1 cable boot from this external disk?
Unfortunately, your plan will not work because the external SSD draws power via the Thunderbolt 3 cable, which is not supported by an adapter. Alternatively, you would have to use a USB3 SSD/platter.
