Can a power adapter be connected for power supply?

Yes, there is a DC IN 5 volt connection on the bottom of the unit.
However, some devices probably don't work, in my case 2 different external hard drives are not recognised, but others are. Also no problem with the GoPro and the mobile phone.
Unfortunately, the recommended drill diameter is also not correct, the device then no longer clamps in the tabletop.
