Question about ASUS Radeon ROG STRIX RX VEGA 64 O8G GAMING

I also have the Strix Vega and have always wondered about all the comments. The card seems to divide the community more than expected and since I couldn't understand some of the comments, I took some measurements and played with the settings.

Out of the box, the fans rotate at max 33%. The card is barely audible, but the VRAM temperatures reach 120 degrees. The GPU is then at about 78 degrees and the card clocks around 1460 Mhz on average.

If you manually adjust the fan curve (to full blast at 60 degrees ;-)), the fans spin at 100% and the card becomes clearly audible (as described by other customers). On the other hand, the GPU only gets up to 62-65 degrees and the VRAM only up to 80 degrees. This leads to the card clocking higher on average, around 1520 MHz.

So there are three settings:
- slower and quiet
- faster and loud
- faster and quieter only with modified cooling
