Question about Samsung DeX incl. charger

As soon as I supply the DEX with power, the active fan runs continuously, even when it is closed. Question: Is this the normal operating state?

I have never heard the fan on my DEX Station, neither when it is in operation nor when it is closed. What surprises me about my DEX Station is that it only works with the original Samsung power supply for the smartphone - I can't get the DEX Station to work at all with other power supplies.
