as a Swiss living abroad in Ireland, is it better to buy the EU model? do I have any disadvantages with the CH model in the EU?
No, there are no restrictions, the smartphone supports an incredible number of frequencies so that it also works perfectly in Ireland. There are no proper CH devices anyway, that would be far too costly for the manufacturers. The devices go everywhere A charger is not included anyway, that is only available from other manufacturers. If I look at the price, however, there are very good alternatives that offer more and at half the price. If it doesn't have to be Samsung, I would also look at other devices. The savings potential is enormous and they are also very good.
