Are such wireless microphones more suitable for certain things than for others ? E.g. rather for voice, speaking ? What about - musical instruments, string instruments - atmos ? Does it need wind protection ? Can it also record via the phone. e.g. samsung 10e ? Thanks

Hi, I bought this product for a specific job due to its wireless specs... I used only one transmitter, and the camera was a Sony FX5M. Worked very well inside the forest... When recording indoors, (interviews), I use it as a 2nd mic (channel 2), and it works fine. I didn't need to make any change on the gain options (receiver/transmitter)... If you are intending to use multiple transmitters, recording multiple musical instruments, have in mind that these radio transmitters can "signal compite" among each other. Sorry for not helping much in this specific project... PS: It doesn't come with XLR adaptor!!!

The Filmmaker Kit is equipped with a so-called lavalier microphone. These mics are rather meant for voice recordings. I cannot say for sure whether this microphone is also suitable for musical instruments. I suspect that it will not be more than a makeshift solution, but there are other solutions for recording musical instruments. Perhaps a visit to a specialist shop would be worthwhile.
A windscreen - a kind of fur that you put on the microphone - is needed when you are outside. Even a slight breeze will be "heard" by the microphone without this protection. If you do not want the microphone to be seen in the picture, an alternative is to use a directional microphone with a windscreen. This can be aimed at the person speaking outside the picture.
I would not record via a phone - if that should work. A "field recorder" is a better solution because you can control the input level. Good recorders don't cost the earth. Have a look at the brands Zoom or Tascam.
