Question about Sony WH-1000XM5

After reading about several complaints regarding the robustness of the headphones, I would like to take out the additional insurance offered by digitec. The complaints were that the headphones break at the thin point and neither digitec nor Sony offer to repair or replace the product. Is this case covered by the additional insurance? thank you very much!
