Actually, I wanted to expand the internal memory of my Galaxy A8 2018. Obviously, I prepared myself badly. Samsung no longer seems to allow this with the newer Android versions.
The 128GB memory card and the 256GB work on my Galaxy A7 2018, the difficulty is finding them. On my model, you can find them under: Settings; Device Maintenance; Memory => SD card. Maybe it helps to format the memory in the laptop with adapter card. But first check whether the card works at all.
That is correct to a certain extent, from a certain Android version onwards, Android no longer allows the use of the SD card as a quasi memory extension. Basically, everything is stored in the internal memory. If an SD card is inserted, however, you are at least asked whether pictures and videos from the camera should be stored on it. That's something, after all, since multimedia data are the biggest memory guzzlers. With apps, it is difficult or even impossible, but that would have to be researched separately or youtubed.
Seems still possible with all Galaxy phone, the SD card has to be placed in the SIM tray.
