According to the product description, DP is sufficient, no DP++ necessary. According to network reports, only active adapters can convert a DP signal (not DP++) to HDMI. Am I correct in assuming that this is therefore an active adapter? The specifications of my graphics card (manufacturer's website) do not mention DP++, only DisplayPort 1.4.
I have a Nvidia 2080ti and have a hdmi display (about 5 years old).
The graphics card has 3 display ports and 1 hdmi, whereas the HTC Vive uses the hdmi port.
Long story short I tried both versions, this adapter and a cable from hdmi-displayport without active adapter both worked without problems.
I decided to use the cable version because the force on the graphics card coupling is less than with the adapter, which is relatively long with the cable itself and can therefore cause a leverage effect.
