Question about Gitzo Traveler Kit Légende

The link from NoApple includes a different head, also in the "normal" Gitzo kit. The head in only this kit has a friction adjustment, tripod and head with or without friction can be ordered separately, just not here at digitec. But the price here is ok. It is also not logical that Gitzo adds the head without friction to the kit, because the heads cost almost the same. NB: I like the friction adjustment. When shooting portraits, I can tighten the friction so much that I have sharp shots without having to turn the fixation for a small crop change. This way I can concentrate fully on the shot. I don't buy heads without them.

About the weight: my scales show 1548 g with tripod, head and quick release, with the included leather carrying strap (only available in this kit) it's 1674 g. The kit has the, as said above, slight bling-bling look. If you don't like this, buy the normal kit and do without the friction adjustment or buy tripod and head separately. I have the Olympus Pen F in silver, which goes together very well. The operation is flawless, the stability very good. However, there are other tripods where the legs are less awkward to extend. Here, it doesn't quite match the price. In use, however, it is not a limitation, this criticism is purely price-related.

If you want to take the tripod with you on your bike or carry it comfortably in your hand, buy the tripod bag.
