FiiO X5 3rd gen
32 GB
According to the description, the device comes with an internal memory capacity of 32GB and can also be expanded with two SD cards up to a maximum of 256GB. - Can I also use memory cards larger than 256GB? - Why is that not possible? Difficult to understand as a non-expert - What do I need to consider when buying memory cards? - If I only record music, which SD card is recommended?
Mine is already struggling with a 256GB. Everything is very slow and not applicable in practice. I had the X1 and X5 and sent them both back. I will never buy a Fiio product again !
Micro sd hc xc supports memory cards up to 2TB. You can already buy 400GB cards. However, the FiiO must also be able to read this. This means that the FiiO X5 can in theory be supplemented with up to 2TB (per slot). However, the cards must also be supported by the software.
So wait for the software support in each case.
The largest Micro SDXC memory cards currently have 256 GB. If 512 GB were to become available, they should also work, but this has not been tested. I wouldn't buy the cheapest cards (I use Samsung) although the player certainly doesn't need the card with the fastest reading speed. Be careful, there are still cheap fake cards - e.g. with 512 GB - which can actually store much less data, sometimes only a few GB.
