499.- ... It's worth buying a 3000, isn't it?
Definitely wait and see ;-)
From 17.09 you can get a RTX 3080 from 699.- Euro, which is twice as fast (no joke) as the 2070 Super. :-)
And for those who have patience or a budget to stick to: From 15 October there's a 3070 from 499 euros with 2080 Ti performance (+-5%).
Everything else is superfluous to the above question ;-)
You can always wait, but you never have the guarantee - except at the moment. I mean, when the 1080Ti was announced with an attractive price, it was still much more expensive and hardly available (because of mining).
The mixed calculation doesn't add up for me at the moment for the 3000 series. As soon as 144HZ UHD gaming monitors with good brightness and colour coverage become affordable, then I will consider a new card. Before then, no. For 1440P, a 2070S will still be enough for a long time. For me, it will only be interesting in 1-2 years, or even in 3 years, when smart and affordable UHD monitors are on the market. And with 8GB and 10GB on the 3080, it's really not a great upgrade. Then I'd rather wait for the right time, as soon as 20GB versions come out and possibly as a refresh like the Super...
Best I can do is twofiddy :D
Stocks should then be emptied with significantly greater discounts after the massively faster 3070 is released. The 3070 should slightly outperform the 2080ti for a price of EUR 499.
I would wait before buying a GPU.
Funny discussions... On the one hand, the RL benchmarks from "non-NVIDIA marketing people" are missing (only released next Wednesday) and on the other hand, "release date" does not mean that you will get the card within 1-2 days. I expect a delivery time of at least 2-3 months. Especially because these things are very interesting for ETH miners and experience shows that they will massively affect the stock and availability. AMD can also easily follow suit during this time.
In short: Don't buy a graphics card until the 3xxx series is available and if you want to save even more, you can wait directly for Big Navi.

That is also my consideration. But Digitec is a retailer with a corresponding stock. As customers, we benefit enormously from this in terms of availability. So this offer seems legitimate to me.
