4. DFRobot RPLIDAR A1M8-R6 360 degree laser scanner

RPLIDAR A1 is an affordable 360-degree laser scanner solution (LIDAR) developed by SLAMTEC. The system can perform 360-degree scans within a range of 12 meters. The generated 2D point cloud data can be used for mapping, localization, and object as well as environmental modeling. The sampling frequency of the RPLIDAR A1 reaches 5.5 Hz with a sampling of 1450 points per round and can be configured to a maximum of 10 Hz. The RPLIDAR A1 is essentially a laser triangulation measurement system and works excellently in all types of indoor environments and outdoors without direct sunlight. Most traditional non-solid LIDARs use slip rings to transmit power and data information, which have a limited lifespan due to mechanical wear. SLAMTEC has developed OPTMAG technology to overcome the lifespan limitation of conventional LIDAR systems. A wireless power supply and optical communication technology address the electrical connection failure caused by physical wear to extend the lifespan.
