The Jinbei zoom focus system for deep reflective softboxes and deep focus umbrellas allows you to use the softbox or umbrella much more flexibly than before. With the focusing rod, you can smoothly adjust your light source within the light modifier by up to 40 cm. The light cone reflected in the softbox or umbrella is thus reflected at various angles, illuminating your subject with even, focused light that creates harder shadows. However, the hardness can be varied by moving the light source.
A significant advantage of this construction is that the light does not show the point light source as in a typical softbox setup, but is reflected completely evenly. This works particularly well with parabolic deep softboxes, which have greater depth at the same diameter compared to standard softboxes.
You can vary the hardness of the light, meaning the hardness of the shadows on your subject, by shifting the light source. If you push your flash further into the softbox, the beam angle of the reflected light becomes more focused and narrower, resulting in harder shadows. Conversely, if you pull the flash further out of the softbox, the beam angle of the light increases, and the shadows become softer.
