1. RME Audio DPS-2
The new DPS-2 is an exceptional linear power supply that not only boasts impressive specifications, but also a number of unique and extremely useful functions. For example, the compact device has two differently filtered outputs. The housing and front panel of the DPS-2 are based on the ADI-2 series and house RME's innovative half-rack width circuit design. The linear output is a conventional DC output, but with multi-stage passive and active filtering, including a 30,000 μF capacitor bank, a ferrite choke and an active output filter with hybrid voltage regulator, while the second output is based on RME's proprietary μFilter technology. The pre-filtered linear output signal is also processed by highly efficient active filters to provide an exceptionally clean DC output with only a few μV (microvolts) of noise. In addition, the output features a sensor technology that measures and adjusts the output voltage directly at the DC connector of the supplied DC cable. This results in an extremely low output impedance and a load regulation that ensures a clean output voltage of +12.0 V at a load of 2.5 A, completely eliminating load-dependent voltage drop, while the additional use of a two-stage RF filter and a DC filter on the AC side allows the DPS-2 to deliver optimal performance without noise. The 60 VA audio toroidal transformer with additional insulation winding and magnetic tape shielding also contributes to this, guaranteeing absolutely hum-free operation in all situations.
