The XPOL-2-5G is Poynting's third generation of this highly popular cross-polarized (XPOL) mobile band 2x2 MIMO antenna. The antenna housing looks almost identical to that of the second generation but has been completely redesigned internally. Poynting has utilized advanced metamaterial technology, incorporating artificial magnetic conductors (AMC) and a new patented radiator configuration that demonstrates exceptional improvements in bandwidth and gain. The radiation patterns of this antenna are exceptionally well-controlled, further enhancing the antenna's performance.
The XPOL-2-5G antenna includes the newer 3400 - 3800 MHz bands, which were not covered by the V2, and is suitable for 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G. This antenna performs exceptionally well in the following frequency bands: 698 - 960 MHz, 1700 - 2170 MHz, 2300 - 2700 MHz, and 3400 - 3800 MHz. In addition to the new bands, the gain at 1700 MHz and 2.7 GHz across the same frequency ranges is approximately 3 dB higher than that of the V2. The V2 antenna already outperformed most competitors in these areas, so this significant gain improvement showcases the benefits of the new advanced materials and innovative radiator design.
