The ORS 142 optical smoke switch detects smoldering fires as well as open fires with smoke development at an early stage. An additional temperature sensor responds at an ambient temperature of 70°C. In areas with disturbance variables such as steam, dust, condensation and operational smoke development, we recommend the use of the temperature differential switch TDS 247. The integrated termination module is activated by means of a magnet in the base. The extended temperature range down to -30°C enables new fields of application. The country-specific regulations must be observed. The ORS 142 operates according to the scattered light principle. Light transmitter and receiver are arranged in the measuring chamber in such a way that the light from the transmitter does not strike the receiver directly. Only the light scattered by suspended particles reaches the receiver. The evaluation electronics of the ORS 142 additionally monitor the smoke measurement section of the detector for light soiling, heavy soiling and malfunction (measurement chamber failure). The ORS 142 indicates the respective operating states visually by means of an LED.
