Hekatron ORS 142

Optical smoke detection, optical pollution and status indication, pollution compensation, communication capability, measurement chamber monitoring, potential-free relay. The optical smoke detector ORS142 detects both smoldering fires and open fires with smoke development at an early stage. An additional temperature sensor activates at an ambient temperature of 70 °C. In areas with interfering factors such as steam, dust, condensation, and operational smoke development, we recommend using our thermal differential switch TDS 247.

The ORS 142 operates on the light scattering principle. The light emitter and receiver are arranged in the measurement chamber so that the light from the emitter does not directly hit the receiver. Only the light scattered by suspended particles reaches the receiver. The evaluation electronics of the ORS 142 additionally monitor the smoke measurement part of the detector for light pollution, heavy pollution, and malfunction (measurement chamber failure). The respective operating states are visually indicated by the ORS 142. A long-term alarm threshold tracking ensures a consistent distance between the baseline signal and the alarm threshold until the limit for heavy pollution is reached. A relay contact opens in case of an alarm or power failure. We recommend subjecting our smoke and thermal switches to factory revision after 8 years.
