Peter Gaymann was born in 1950 in Freiburg im Breisgau. He initially worked as a social educator and art teacher, and since 1975 has focused exclusively on drawing and cartooning. After several years in Rome, he now lives and works in Cologne. As a self-taught artist, Gaymann quickly developed his own style. Particularly his humorous cartoons featuring chickens, as well as those depicting the species Homo sapiens, playfully highlight the all-too-human weaknesses and strengths of everyday life. Following his first publications in magazines and newspapers, he has released a multitude of his own books and has also created numerous illustrations for books and calendars.
