Really a great HD, runs fast, good price.
It ran well at the beginning, but now I had to cool it additionally because it just gets too hot and then it's also very loud from time to time, really annoying, don't know what it's looking for itself. When you restart Windows, it stops again.

I had ordered two WD Gold 8TB disks. I returned one of them. According to SMART values, it got 51 degrees hot, although the value did not seem plausible to me, because you could hardly touch the disk, it got so hot. This was the case even without writing or reading. It was also extremely loud, even without any access to it. No comparison with the other hard drive of the same model! This one runs almost silently and at a maximum of 39 degrees after copying 3.7 TB of data. I would keep an eye on this drive!
But it could also have something to do with the position where the hard disk is installed. My PC is medium, so I don't have much space for hard drives. But I have now taken out the back panel and put up a fan because I couldn't find a fan for a hard drive. There was only something like that in the past, nowadays it doesn't really exist anymore, especially not 4-wire controllable. At the moment, the hard disk only gets 39 degrees warm this way, but it's not always very quiet.

But first I want to buy a new larger case, a Lian-Li O11Dynamic XL (Midi Tower). I currently have the Corsair Carbide Spec-06 (Midi Tower), which is also a great case, but the airflow is not so optimal.
