The Asus SDRW-08U5S-U is a portable optical drive and, at just 12 mm in width, one of the slimmest external DVD burners in the world. For data security, Asus employs two security measures, offering not only password protection and encryption but also a feature for encrypting file names. The Disc Encryption function provides double protection for the data being safeguarded. It can protect the entire disc or just specific parts with a password and offers the option to encrypt file names.

The E-Green technology can automatically close drive applications when they are not in use, reducing power consumption by up to 50%. With the Drag-and-Burn function, copying discs and burning files is effortless. A new disc can be created in just three simple steps. Files to be burned can be easily dragged and dropped onto the software interface. The burning process can then be initiated with a simple click of the "Burn" button. The integrated stand allows for both horizontal and vertical positioning for more space and greater convenience.
