Nintendo Switch
I've already been able to spend a week with the Nintendo Switch. I have to say that the concept convinces me. It works great as a home console on the TV. But the device is really cool when it's used on the move:
Not a second after you take the device out of the docking station, the picture appears on the built-in IPS panel. Although the resolution is "only" 720p, everything looks razor-sharp. The games themselves run very smoothly and without any noticeable visual differences on the tablet. For example, The Legend of Zelda - Breath of the Wild can be played perfectly on the go.
The workmanship is very good through and through, only the small stand detracts a bit from the perfect overall impression, as it is a bit wobbly. On a flat surface, however, it works perfectly. Even if it should accidentally "break off", it can be easily reattached - that's good!
The Joy-Cons take a little getting used to at first because they are a bit small. However, they function like full controllers. With the Joy-Con Grip, the left and right Joy-Con can be put together to form a "full-grown" Gampad, which fits surprisingly well in the hand for its size. However, for longer home use, I would recommend buying the Pro-Controller as well. This also fits very well in the hand, but is not exactly cheap.
The only problem with the Joy-Cons is that the left pendant sometimes has weaknesses with the connection of the console as soon as it is a little further away from the sofa. Nintendo still needs to work on the firmware here. However, it was never so bad that the gaming experience was greatly disturbed. When docked to the console, I didn't notice any problems.
