Wait for the oculus link and buy a Quest.

The headset is good quality, the picture is good and the inside-out tracking works surprisingly well.
Unfortunately, this headset is not an improvement over the CV1 in every way, the screen only runs at 80hz (compared to
90 for the CV1) and the resolution improvement is not huge.
The headset is very easy to set up as it does not require any external cameras/stations to be installed in the room. Unfortunately the Oculus software is really bad, I installed it on 3 different PCs and had problems every time.
The weirdest thing is that oculus has announced compatibility of the Quest with the vr pc, making the rift s practically obsolete, especially at the same price.
Oculus seems to be much more focused on the Quest than the Rift S.
Overall this headset is a good headset to get started in VR but is a bit disappointing.

I think your comment is not quite right in the sense that there is still a clear improvement in the graphic sharpness compared to the Quest and CV1, the difference lies in the fact that the panel is an LCD and not an Oled, so the blacks are not as black as the CV1 but the sharpness in simulation is not the same. I'm not sure if 80 or 90 Hz makes any difference if you don't have the PC to use the maximum frame rate, and you won't be able to see the difference anyway. The IPD is not mechanically adjustable, but with the software, it may be that your problem lies at this level.
For the price there is no better on the market today, even a Valve Index which is more expensive doesn't have much better performance, not to mention the tracking problems encountered. And as for the Quest link announced by Facebook, we are not ready to have it in Switzerland since it is not yet released in the United States, and according to specialists the video return will be less good than the Rift S since the connectivity will be done only by a single USB 3 cable and not by a dispplay port.

Thank you for your comment! I agree with you, but I still find the improvements quite disappointing, especially at the same price as the quest, which is all-in-one! After all, there are not really any other alternatives at this price in Switzerland.
As for the frame rate, I like the possibility to run it at 80hz, allowing to run big games like NMS more easily. I just think the ability to have a higher framerate is always nice, especially in fast games (e.g. BS). Even the PSVR is capable of 120hz (but then the res is pretty gross). For slower experiences (simulations), however, I agree that 80hz is enough.
I'm still enjoying this headset which is a big improvement over the PSVR I was using before. The tracking is flawless and the setup is much easier than the first gen. Most of the problems come from the oculus software which could use some improvement.
    Have a great day!
