Product details
The WS-12 is an active 12″ subwoofer with a 1000W Class-D amplifier designed for studio and stage use. It excels in delivering details in very low frequencies found in film soundtracks or bass-heavy music genres like EDM and Hip-Hop. With a frequency response down to 23 Hz and a maximum sound pressure level of 123 dB, it provides ample reserves for a confident low-frequency performance in any environment.
Originally designed for studio use, the WS-12 has been made road-ready for live performances by adding handles and using high-quality materials for its enclosure. The subwoofer is easy to transport in a car trunk and works exceptionally well with smaller PA systems.
Similar to the studio monitors in the LP series, the bass reflex port of the WS-12 has been engineered to offer all the advantages of a front port without the associated air noise that often comes with it. In most bass reflex designs, air exits the port at different speeds from various points, leading to noisy turbulence. These turbulences can be perceived as "snorting" or disruptive air noise from the subwoofer. Therefore, the bass reflex channel of the WS-12 has been designed so that all the air exits the port at the same speed. This contributes to better low-frequency reproduction and ensures clean and tight bass.
