Whether you're making outdoor recordings, capturing and mixing music, or producing a podcast, the H8's color touchscreen provides the right functions for your project through three application-specific app-based interfaces, all accessible with a simple touch of your finger. The podcast app makes it easy to create high-quality productions. Thanks to the special sound pads, you can trigger sound effects, start background music, and much more via the touchscreen. Choose from 13 high-quality sounds or use your own content from the SD card. The music app gives you direct access to all essential features like audio levels, faders, level meters, and more. With 10 inputs and 12 recording tracks, larger ensembles can be recorded effortlessly. Create mixes and overdubs and edit your recordings with EQ and compression. The H8 comes with the XYH-6 microphone, which includes two matched unidirectional microphones for capturing sources placed directly in front of the recorder. The microphone capsules are easily interchangeable, allowing you to always use the right microphone for your application. The H8 offers four XLR inputs with dedicated pad switches and gain controls. Two additional XLR/TRS combo jacks with Hi-Z switches allow for the recording of line signals, microphones, or direct connection of electric guitars and basses. Use the built-in 3.5 mm headphone output for monitoring or feed the audio signal directly into your camera via the separate stereo line output. With just four AA batteries, you can achieve a recording duration of up to 15 hours. For unlimited recording time, use the optional AD-17 power supply.
