The affordable all-purpose barcode scanner Zebra DS2208 reads 1D and 2D barcodes in seconds - from classic paper and plastic labels as well as from a smartphone display. It captures customer cards, promotional codes, vouchers, and much more for easy billing directly from the customer's smartphone - making it ideal for use in retail and hospitality, even during peak times. The DS2208 automatically recognizes handheld and presentation mode by simply placing it in or taking it out of the presentation stand.

The multifunctional area imager is ready to use straight out of the box thanks to comprehensive pre-configuration - just unpack and go. The connection cable (available in USB, RS232, KBW, or IBM) is automatically recognized by the DS2208 through Auto-Host-Detect upon connection, requiring no further settings. With Zebra's free remote software SMS (Scanner Management Service), you can manage and configure the DS2208 and many other models worldwide from a PC, smartphone, or tablet. Zebra makes it easy to switch from 1D to 2D with full backward compatibility to all existing connection cables of the widely used Zebra LS2208.
