The models of the FG800 series were developed based on feedback from many professional guitarists and dealers. We found that many things should not be changed - but there was one point that kept coming up: everyone wanted the unique character of the FG180 with a bit more volume, a bit more bass, and a bit more punch. With the FG800 series, this has now become a reality!

The features of a great guitar at a very affordable price: solid spruce top for projection and authentic acoustic sound, new scalloped bracing, and flawless craftsmanship. The ideal instrument for anyone looking to start playing guitar.

New scalloped bracing

To achieve this goal, we relied on powerful software capable of analyzing and simulating the tonal characteristics of this legendary guitar. This allowed us to understand the impact of the bracing on overall volume, projection, inertia, and generally what gives the guitar its uniqueness, and to modify it to meet the demands of guitarists.

50 years of history

Yamaha is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its acoustic guitars and proudly presents the new FG800 series. This new, historically significant series will replace the FG700 series.

A concentrate of technology

2 different body shapes: FG: a Western-folk format with a full sound. FS: a compact small format with a percussive and sharp sound.

The FG series was established in 1966 with the declared goal of providing guitarists with an affordable, reliable, and future-proof instrument. We aimed to carry on this legacy with this unique series.
