Product details

Platform Cable USB II is a development kit from Xilinx designed for configuring Xilinx FPGAs, programming Xilinx PROMs and CPLDs, and directly programming third-party SPI flash memory. It supports programming and configuration for all Xilinx devices, including XC18V00 ISP PROMs, Platform Flash/XCF XCF00S00P/XL PROMs, all UltraScale, Series 7, Virtex, and Spartan FPGA families, as well as Zynq-7000 AP Systems-on-Chip, XC9500XL, and CoolRunner XPLA3/CoolRunner-II CPLDs.

The device supports JTAG and slave serial programming topologies, with firmware that can be downloaded via the cable. It is fully integrated with Xilinx iMPACT software, which is optimized for deployment and required for programming and configuration. The platform allows for intuitive management of multiple cables from a single application and is compatible with both Windows and Linux operating systems.

Automatic detection and adjustment to the target I/O voltage range are supported, interfacing with devices operating at +5 V (TTL), +3.3 V (LVCMOS), +2.5 V, +1.8 V, and +1.5 V. The device is powered via a USB connection and features a target status LED for power indication. Firmware updates are transparent to the user, and the platform is extensively optimized for use with Xilinx development tools, including ISE Foundation Software, Embedded Development Kit, Chip Scope License Pro Analyzer, and System Generator for DSP.
