Patch cables are designed for operating frequencies up to 500 MHz. They are used for signal transmission with high data rates (10 Gbps). Due to the high signal frequencies, careful handling is required during installation and assembly, especially at the connection points of the wires. The individual wire pairs in Cat 6A cables are twisted with varying tightness, which further reduces susceptibility to interference compared to Cat 5e.
