Wirewin S/FTP patch cables are characterized by their high quality and are suitable for Gigabit or 10-Gigabit connections with up to 500 MHz operating frequency. Applications for Category 6A cables include voice, multimedia, and data transmission as well as ATM networks.

Shielding
The wires made of 100% copper are double-shielded. A wire is a conductor made up of many thin individual strands, making it flexible. The advantage is also its high tensile strength. The cable further features strain relief. Unlike conventional PVC cables, these cables are halogen-free: the dangerous release of halogen-containing combustion gases is therefore excluded. Another advantage is that exposure to toxic gases (such as hydrogen chloride gas from PVC) is minimized. Halogen-free cables are also flame-retardant and do not exhibit the dangerous "fuse effect." Additionally, halogen-free cables produce minimal smoke in the event of a fire.
