Die Western Digital Red 2 TB (WD20EFRX) ist die 2-TByte-Variante der WD Red-Baureihe und zeigt im Test gute Leistung zum fairen Preis und ist schön leise. Im Anwendungstest liegt sie aber hinter der der 3-TB-Version zurück.
Für den privaten Gebrauch ist die Festplatte gut geeignet, da sie zum einen solide Zugriffsraten besitzt und dabei auch preiswert ist. Wenn es aber darum geht große Datenmengen in sehr kurzer Zeit abzurufen, schwächelt die Western Digital, da sie hierfür nicht konzipiert wurde.
