The SN850 with heatsink offered an almost consistently high speed in the test. This makes it ideal for use in the PlayStation 5. Unfortunately, the 500-giagbyte version of the M.2 SSD tested here is comparatively expensive at 125 euros. Product details
This SSD transfers data using PCI-Express, which leaves traditional SATA SSDs far behind in terms of transfer rates. M.2 SSDs are installed via the M.2 socket on the motherboard. Due to their compact dimensions, they are particularly suitable for use in ultrabooks and mini-PCs, but can also be used in standard computers. This SSD excels in systems with NVMe support. Users benefit from high throughput, high IOPS, and low latency. Unlike the older AHCI protocol, which was developed for traditional spinning drives, NVMe prevents performance drops, offers faster transfer of large data volumes, increased boot speeds, and improved system responsiveness.
