A classic with excellent imaging performance. This lens telephoto zoom lens is quite handy and lightweight despite its length of approximately 460 mm. The thoughtful design without a built-in iris diaphragm allows for outstanding, color-accurate, and sharp images through the use of 8 lenses in 5 groups. The relative aperture of 1:8.0 provides a bright viewfinder image when used outdoors, even in wildlife or detail photography in landscapes. The optics do not have a selectable aperture: the maximum possible opening is always available, and the optics are corrected for this. It delivers its highest performance, which is not diminished by light diffraction at the aperture blades. The initial aperture corresponding to the respective zoom range is engraved on the mount for reference.

The attached 360° rotatable tripod mount allows for balanced attachment to a tripod and switching between portrait and landscape orientation. Approximately 5 m minimum focusing distance at 1300 mm setting enables nature photographers to choose exciting subjects. The lens works in automatic exposure mode or manual mode with most cameras. More details can be found in your camera's instruction manual. T2 connection, operating tip: The T2 adapter is screwed onto the optics, then the lens is locked onto the camera. The side screws on the T2 adapter allow for "uprighting" the lens after loosening – aligning the index for infinity or the depth of field marks upwards. Retightening the screws securely fastens the optics and adapter.

Save time in post-processing. Many lens errors such as distortion, edge softness, or vignetting occur in the outer areas of the image. Using a lens designed for full-frame on a camera with an APS-C sensor does not utilize these areas. Thus, you achieve maximum quality. Additional post-processing time for correcting lens errors is therefore eliminated.
